How route a call to a specific sip trunk?

Posted by richard@goipnow.se on Fri, 09/26/2008

Hej

I'am trying to setup the system to work with my sip trunk provider, and everything works fine except this:

My SIP provider uses one trunk for each public telephone numer, and there is no problem to route the trunk to a extension, but the otherway there seems to a problem....

in the outgoing route I can only set up a dial pattern one or two trunks....

How is it possible to route each telephone user (extensions) through the SIP trunk that contains the users public number?

Hope this make sense!

That would be useful for us as well, as we have one department that has their own phone number (and pays for it separately with the provider, so it has its own IAX login and all), and it would be nice to have their outgoing calls go out via their own number.

On a bare-metal Asterisk system I would do this by placing their phones in a separate context, and including the alternate routing table for outbound in their context, but Thirdlane seems to have "from-inside" and "from-outside" as the only context definitions available to phones. Being able to have multiple "from-inside" type contexts with various settings would be pretty useful for other situations, too (like defining a separate context for the phone in the outside lobby that can only call the receptionist for example)
