Dumb question: Where is the directory.xml file?

Posted by xenoscion on Fri, 11/14/2008

I did a find / -name directory.xml and cannot find it. I would like to change the logo and add a DND button on my Cisco 7940 so if there is another way to do i would love to be informed.
Thanks

I have used that wiki when i first created a asterisk@home pbx, my problem is it's not in the directory specified by the wiki nor does it reside anywhere in the Thirdlane pbx. Maybe am completely blind but have a look at your pbx and let me know if it is there for you? If its not there how are you or are you customizing your 79xx phone?

It's an optional provisioning file. Since it's optional, PBX Manager doesn't include it (and really, what PBXManager provides is only samples anyway - you should be getting provisioning files from your phone vendor and using those when possible). What you would need to do is create the file (perhaps use examples from Cisco's documentation or elsewhere), and create the /etc/asterisk/user_provisioning/ directory and put it in there. Then copy the section for that model phone from /etc/asterisk/provisioning/models.txt, put that block into /etc/asterisk/user_provisioning/models.txt, and edit the block to tell it to include the new file.

Ok, that will work perfect then. Thanks for the help Dave.
