I have a Cisco SPA504 wirth a Sidecar. Currently the Sidecar is setup in BLM mode so we can see who is on the phone and if we press an extenstion it rings that exention. What we are trying to do it make it when the reception presses an extension on the side care, the extension auto-answers, currently it rings until they pick up. I know in thirdlane there is a feature code that on the numeric keypad i can press *99 then the extension manually then it will auto-answer, but the whole point with a side car is so you dont have to manually dial the extension number. Is there a way you can make it so all internal calls auto pickup so you dont have to use *99? So regudarless if you use the sidecar or the keypad they all pickup for internal to intercal calls?

call pickup and BLF have
call pickup and BLF have nothing to do with each other. The phone itself has to support the awareness of 'ringing' state and also have to support the feature of prepending the digits to the extension to retrieve the call
on polycom you have to use attendant.reg settings to get enhanced BLF messages and you still have to define the pickup string
call.directedCallPickupString="*8"
every vendor is different, if they even support it at all
your first clue is if the lamp behaves differently while ringing versus an active call.
The only way I have
The only way I have accomplished this is simply to use another button. We have set our customers up with a button for BLF/One touch transfer, and then also a button for direct to voice mail and could make a button for intercom feature. Just treat it as a speed dial button, put in the code (you said *99) and then extension, and it will work. I really do not think you are going to be able to do all of that with 1 button on the sidecar.
And on Erics point, the BLF does behave differently when a phone is in its ringing state versus when they are on the phone. Solid red for on phone, flashing red for ringing. So perhaps you could go the route he is saying since it seems like the BLF capabilities might be good enough for what you need.
Try setting internal calls to
Try setting internal calls to auto answer, (except while on the phone), I know it works with yealink
From what I can tell, the BLF will need the exact extension in order to monitor it.
Let me know if you figure that one out, I need that too.
Example:
- Monitor Extension 2100 on LINE 2
- But if I press LINE 2 on the phone, then dial *992100 instead of 2100
(The Buddy Watch Feature will not work either, I tried that already)
Thanks
