Recording IVR Media Files from Phone

We have a number of clients that aren't sophisticated enough to log into the portal to re-record their out media files. They are looking for a feature code to record with. In the MTE feature codes section, there is *51, however when it states to record, it beeps twice and then says "Voice Prompt has been recorded" and hangs up.

Is there anything special that needs to be setup or configured? Also, how can you determine which media file you want to re-record over?

that extension is just there for the gui to bridge a call. if you want to record a specific file by dialing a # you have to hard code the filename in the dialplan code you write. I would recommend using Authenticate in your dialplan because people tend to accidentally dial this feature code and then realize what they did and hang up. Then they act surprised when their recording 'dissapeared' not realizing they just replaced the file with a 5 seconds of silence followed by a hangup.
