Selective Call Recording with "*9" is not working

Calls are not being recorded when pressing "*9". The call is displayed under Recorded Calls, but there is no recording. The option to Record by pressing "*9" is selected on the extension. Calls are recorded fine when Record All Calls is selected. We're on version 8.3.1.2 patched for memcached. Any assistance would be appreciated.
