Huntlist and Call Limit Rollover

Posted by herron on Tue, 02/05/2019

Asterisk 13.24.0
Communications Manager 9.1.2.37

We are upgrading to the above platform and we are trying to get the Huntlists to work and honor the call limit setting for an extension.

The extension is set to call limit 1
The huntlist is the device based ring group.

On our older 1.6 system, the call will go to the second extension should the first extension in the huntlist be in use. On the new system, it still rings the first extension.

I read that call-limit is deprecated and we could/should? be using limitonpeer/counteronpeer but that does not come up as an option for the extension settings in the GUI.

Please let me know where I should be looking or how this should be handled?

Thanks,

Hello,

You can achieve desired behavior by using Queue instead of Device Based Ring Group. Queue will have to be configured with Ring Starategy "ringall" and Ring busy members set to "no".

I will check it out but I am not sure that will achieve what I need.

I am trying to emulate a key system using an ATA device such as an adtran, SPA, AudioCodes, etc., where the calls hunt to the next line should the first line be busy.

The older version was just a hunt list with the extensions set to call limit 1.

This also doesnt solve the problem if these extensions were polycom units and I were to dial the extension directly, to only have the one call limit. It still calls the extension a second time

Is call limit broken in just my install or is it broken altogether?

There are instances when I need an extension to only have the ability to take one call if the extension is dialed directly.
