good question, I couldnt find anything specific yet, I had always thought it was to set the amaflags.

Yes, it sets amaflags to billing.

if you have multiple did's setup and you want to know trough which one the a call comes in (for marketing purposes, if billable is selected you could monitor it in the cdr under account code otherwise you will not

if you know of any other reason please advise
