Off Topic - SIP trunking providers

Posted by cbbs70a on Fri, 01/02/2009

All;
Sorry if I am off topic, but I have a customer who is suffering from many dropped calls. In their defense, the SIP trunking provider has stepped up and taken ownership of the problem, but we are now going into 2 full weeks of this. My customer is relatively small, with one SIP trunk shared between 5 phones using upwards of three concurrent lines. So my problem is this: where can I find a SIP trunking provider who will sell me a single trunk? Most providers do not want to sell less than 3-4 lines and I ubderstand and appreciate that. Does anyone know of a provider that will selll a single like as a backup? I'd love to try out Broadvox or Velocity but they have their minimums and I understand that. Right now my customer is using Broadvoice but they are the ones having issues and nitevoip is not acceptable. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Regards;
Frank

Check out aretta.com and telasip.com. We use aretta as our primary provider and telasip as our backup. Both are good guys and very reliable. We're hoping to take a look at a new sip trunking offering from Speakeasy soon. Looking forward to seeing what they have to offer - especially since we have servers on their network.

you could try binfone and junction networks. With that few of 'lines' you could check into purely metered plans.
