Transfer directly to voicemail feature code question

Posted by naturopath on Fri, 03/27/2009

Hi:

Ok, the script, tl-transfer-to-voicemail is great but.... There is no option to allow the caller to hear the voicemail message recorded for the extension. All I am able to do is choose pre-recorded prompts. The script instructions state:

Script Description: Used to transfer caller to voicemail.
To use this script you need to set up a feature extension starting with a voicemail transfer prefix then the phone user will transfer a call by transferring to an extension equal to the prefix followed by a mailbox number. Mailbox is determined by stripping the prefix from the tarnsferred to exetnsion.
Options control the initial prompt as follows:
u - "User is unavailable", b - "User is on the phone", s - Skip playing the initial prompt or "Please leave a message" when no option is entered.
Optional operator's extension allows to transfer to operator by pressing 0
Pressing * during prompt enters Voicemail Menu (for message retrieval and other options)

So, is there an option to allow the transferred caller to hear the extensions recorded voicemail message rather than a pre-recorded prompt?

Thanks again,

Larry

when you put "u" than the caller hear what it is recorded for the unavailable greeting not a pre-recorded one as well as when you put"b" the caller hears what you have recorded for busy greeting

you can stack them with 's' also. So 'bs' or 'us' will only play your recording and not even play the post recording instructions.

Hi Guys,

Yes. you are so right. The problem was my road tech never had the client set the voicemail message for his extension :) He said he must have set another person's message by accident. It's been a long day.

Thanks for all the help,

Larry
