How to get originating caller id on a transferred call

Hi:

I want to transfer a call from one extension to another in MTE. When I do the transfer the caller id on the extension I am transferring to reads the internal caller id of my extension instead of the originating callers caller id. Any ideas on how to fix this or is it not fixable.

if you do a attended transfer than it comes up as the internal extension only when you do a blind transfer then it comes up the original caller id

Its worth mentioning that some phones, ahem AASTRA and SNOM ... do not have a fully functioning blind transfer. They do an attended transfer and tell the traferer to 'hang up real fast'. This obviously will not create a redirect within asterisk so that you get the caller id.
