I've got multiple users with an intermittent problem. As they dial, the phone temporarily stops allowing input. It isn't always the same digit or the same position in the dialed string. After a 1-2 second freeze, the screen will display the number pressed when it originally froze. Then, the user can successfully continue dialing and place a call.
It was happening to about 1 of every 15 dial attempts. We rebooted the switch and all the phones. Only a few users are still reporting the problem. Frequency has dropped to only a couple times over the course of a day.
Thirdlane version is 6.0.1.72. All phones Cisco 7940's or 7960's on firmware 8-7-0.
Any suggestions?
Saw this issue before...
I've seen this with the Polycom's. I was able to update the firmware to resolve the issue, but what was happening was what we call "sticky keys". When the phone was registering to the PBX box, it would temporarily disallow any input on the keys, which would happen every 60 seconds or so.
It appears to be a phone issue. Until you complete the dial string the phone doesn't talk to the system.
Do you have the latest firmware?
