Route calls based on incoming Callerid

Posted by ipfreely on Wed, 11/18/2009

Hi,
Without having to write a new macro, is there any way to route inbound calls based on callerid to a specific extension? I see the ability per extension to do different things, but this would be prior to an outside caller dialing an extension. The site is full Auto Attendant.

Thanks,
Chris A

custom code, I wrote this AGI for another client who has different call queues based on region. If you want, shoot me an email to eeman at bluegrass dot net and we can discuss.

Hi there,

Macro or a script are the best way to configure an auto attendant service on a telephone system.

garyfett how exactly do you plan to use Macro() to run an IVR when Background and WaitExten will redirect to the originating context outside the macro? The asterisk 1.6.x.x version of Gosub is a better replacement of Macro(), but it will be 1-2 years before thirdlane converts to Gosub because, at that point, it will no longer be compatible with 1.4.x versions of asterisk.
