Call Forwarding to Mobile

Posted by fredbear34 on Tue, 03/16/2010

I am trying to set up a tenant for a small client of ours..

they want the extensions to ring and in the event they are not answered to go to a mobile..

i have found i can ring the mobile from the hunt list.. ( but both ring at the same time )

or if i point the inbound route to the extension it works but the ring time is too short.. ( cant answer the mobile.. )

any help would be appreciated..

if you have a hunt list the find me follow me does work..

if create an inbound route to the extension..

it works but call length is too short.. ( it stops ringing before you can answer it )

You can set the amount of time it rings the mobile phone, up to 75 seconds.

There is a drop down box to the right of the phone number.

I just timed it and doesn't matter if it is an extension forward or a hunt list you can set the time to 70 seconds but the call terminates in 20 seconds !!

Any ideas ??

whats the timeout of the ringgroup, I'm assuming you're using 'other numbers to dial'. Ringgroups are not suppose to observe forward information of an extension because ring groups are first-come, first-serve on whom answers the call, including bad PSTN recordings and foreign voicemail systems.

so for your hunt list i am assuming you have 2 ring groups.. one for internal extensoins and one using other numbers to dial.. what are the timeouts of each ring group.

That is what i said... i can change the timeout and it has no effect.. fyi ( currently set at 70 )
i realise that a ringgroup is for who answer the phone first.. but i have sent the call straight to the exetnstion or hunt list or queues

the result is the same..

have you considered the fact that either you set a very low timeout on your outbound routes or that your cell phone is trying to direct it to voicemail? 20 sec = 4 rings which is pretty standard for vm to kick in.

have you tried just calling the mobile from your voip phone to test the typical behavior?

I have called the mobile from sip phone. It rings out and goes to mobile/vm

i checked the time out on the outbound route and it is set to 60.

when i tried the route to the extension i switch vm off.
