CDR records not showing proper info

Posted by ipfreely on Wed, 11/14/2007

Hi All,
In my CDR records the listing shows the customers external phone number in the CALLER ID Field as well as the SOURCE field. It does not indicate the extension making the call, which is off corse the most important information. I am not sure if this was happening prior to the upgrade or not.

Cheers,
Chris A

Chris A,

we are runing Thirdlane PBX 5.0.45 I checked in the CDR (for the tenant) and its displayed the callers "NAME" and in the Source it displays the EXTENSION Number only, this is for the one making the call.

in recieving a call DESTINATION is displays the extension the call is routed to only.

If your CDR displaying something different..?

Hi George,

Internal calls station to station ot station to voicemail populate the CDR recodrs properly, but external call show the default CallerID info entered under the tenant, no matter which station make the call. The Source always indicates the Calling Name and Number of the tenant??

Thanks,

Chris A

Dealing with caller id seems to be the messiest thing, and CDR is up there with it. The problem is that in many cases caller id has to be set to a number that an upstream provider will recognize, in some cases suppressed (with SIP privacy headers), in some cases it should be matching a DID assigned to the extension, or to a tenant. On top of that there is call forwarding where it may be desirable to see the original caller id but is not always possible due to provider restrictions.

I would welcome anyone reading this to comment. I am not happy with our implementation at the moment but don't want it to be to changed (again) until we get a clearer picture of what is needed.

Hey Chris A

I had to shorten the call date to fit on the screen, is the below what you are seeing..?

Outbound call

Tenant Caller ID Source Destination Call Date Secs Account Code Disposition

axint "name" <301> 301 18883334778 2007-11-26 152 Answered

Inbound call

axint 13037770102 13037770102 301 2007-11-26 16 Answered

let me know if its not..

what if you simply include another column to display 'channel' so that you can see the source channel like Zap/1, SIP/202 etc, then you can see the origination channel even when callerid is re-written.

What if instead of adding fields to the "table" view of CDR we would add a "view" screen that after clicking on a record will display all the fields for one record and possibly some related info - like associated recording, etc? (can't think of much more right now, but basically a flow of a call through the system (inbound route, ivr, queue, etc) - if we can capture it). Basically a complete one call/record view?
