Dialing out

Posted by conraddewet on Thu, 09/16/2010

Hi all, im not sure if this question has been posted before, if so please point me.

Is it possible for Thirdlane (multi-tenant) to make outbound calls without and "outside line" indicator?

I have actually removed all the pre-set ones and just put my own in. I have made "0*" the outside pattern, but wondering is its possible for it to just be "_." or "." ?

Would that work or would that create ambiguity? and create some kind of infinate loop.

Reason im asking, I have a 2nd box doing least cost routing, billing etc etc, so any outbound call must just get sent to this 2nd box regardless.

You know whats its like tho... all the clients ask... why do i have to dial 0* then the number ??? Grrrr

Thanks for this, i tried this, and the billing server get a hit but the call fails and i now get this:

[Sep 16 15:06:22] WARNING[2695]: chan_sip.c:15151 handle_response_invite: Received response: "Forbidden" from '"unknown" ;tag=as0e99a944'

billing server:
[Sep 16 15:06:00] WARNING[1644]: chan_sip.c:8743 check_auth: username mismatch, have <27879434890>, digest has <27879434870>
[Sep 16 15:06:00] NOTICE[1644]: chan_sip.c:14654 handle_request_invite: Failed to authenticate user "unknown" ;tag=as0e99a944

Ok, i fixed it, but for the sake of reading this post. The reason my out call where failing is because my trunk did not have a fromuser= parameter so the billing server was getting confused as to who is calling.

Then with the dialling pattern, I tried _X. and found that yes it did work, but the extension call where also go to the billing server and they had no dial plans back to the thridlane server so where failing.

what i have done now - and it works fine, is used a pattern of _XXXXXX. so that the number has to be more than 6 numbers, so that extension call (i am assuming will be under 6 numbers!) will dial directly and longer number national etc etc go out the billing box.

Thanks for all the help otherwise.
