Posted by vcg5090 on Thu, 10/28/2010

CAN ANY ONE ADVISE ON THE CONFIGURATION / PROCEDURE TO GET THE OPERATOR / BLF CONSOLE TO WORK WITH THIRDLANE? I KNOW WHEN I CREATE THE EXT IN AUTO PROVISIONING IT STATES IN RED TEXT IT MAY NOT WORK IF YOU DONT HAVE A BLF TEMPLATE. WHERE WOULD I FIND THAT?

THANKS

it works with a IP650. The IP601 is end of life and will not take the firmware required to use the BLF templates. The only work-around you have is to MANUALLY, on each phone, add those contacts to the phone and set the 'watch buddy' option for those contacts. It will populate the sidecar in the order you specify as speed-dial-index. This is less than ideal but it works. I would reccomend an IP650 and use the firmware sip version 3.2.1 - 3.2.3 .. dont use the 3.3 firmware, they use different file schemas.

If physical access to the phone is not available you can also edit the mac-directory.xml file stored in your -bootserver-/CONTACTS/ folder. The con to this is that you have to reboot the phone for it to update its list from this file.
