Special Mailbox that allows customer to change greeting, but does not take messages and allows a reroute at the end...

OK here is a question. I have a comedy club that changes greetings weekly sometimes daily. right now when a call comes in the customer gets an auto attendant and they press 1 for this weeks acts. they have 2 shows starting Friday, 3 shows on saturday and a matinee on sunday. So they record a new greeting up to three times on the weekend.

In order to accommodate them without risking letting them into the Admin I have set it up that when the customer presses 1 they go to a special mailbox which allows them to change it whenever they want but then the mailbox takes a message which they don't want. They have sort of taken care of this by adding a minute or two of music at the end of the greeting but they would like it to go back to the auto attendant. Does somebody way more ingenious than me have a better way.

Is there a way to set a personal operator on the special mailbox like the personal mailbox. Then we could tell the listener to press 0 when they hear the music to return to the auto attendant.

Sorta, it would involve you using a custom command calling the macro tl-goto-voicemail, and you'd have to create a feature extension that plays that same ivr menu so that its the operator extension.

I'm not asking you to write it, I'm asking if you have written it before and could you provide an example. If not I will start doing the legwork and figuring out how to do it.

write what? i think you should take a look at all the options in the pulldown for the ivr, it might make more sense when i say 'custom'.

Thanks for the knock upside the head. I see how to do it now. I'm usually pretty good at figuring out ways to do things unconventionally.

One final thing is there a way to skip the message taking part altogether and just return to the IVR?
