Any one tried this with Thirdlane MTE?
I am getting close to getting it configured, but am running into an error message:
"The requested URL was not found on this server. Check the prefix in http.conf matches the Noojee Click prefix on the advanced tab"
My http.conf file matches the http: prefix entry in Noojee.
help?

i got it working without issue, but looking through your posts makes it appear as though you have more than just one error, some even conceptual. I do not believe this is going to be a good MTE fit for a few reasons.
well there's already the
well there's already the thirdlane dialer, which already creates url handlers for the handler type callto: . What you need is some sort of plugin for firefox that just identifies phone numbers and re-writes them as callto handlers. I'm sure something like that has to exist, thats all switchvox did for their firefox plugin I believe. Zimbra does that for messages on the zimbra pages in firefox.
Have you used the thirdlane
Have you used the thirdlane dialer?
Whenever we use it, it locks up our windows 7 machines and requires a reboot.
Unless of course it has finally been updated, when was the last time it was updated?
i haven't used it in a while,
i haven't used it in a while, i just installed it on my windows 7 64bit laptop. After using it a couple times I did not having any lockups. Are you talking about the regular dialer piece or the outlook plugin piece? I dont use outlook so maybe thats the only problem piece?
the dailer cannot be updated. It was written in VB6 which no longer exists. It would require a complete re-write from the bottom up. The reason its free is because supporting VB6 was impossible. Charging requires supporting which just is not possible. If a replacement ever does get written I'm sure a pricing model will return.
Thirdlane Dialer rewrite
I wonder if there is enough interest in the new version of the Dialer and what people would expect it to do - short of being an instant messenger and a softphone :).
The hardest part in writing and supporting the Dialer was dealing with the different versions of Outlook and Windows. I wonder how critical is the Outlook integration part for people on the list and whether a cross platform dialer (Windows, MAC, Linux) with callto url support would be a better option. And how important are screen pops?
i get my screen pops from
i get my screen pops from isymphony. I really like how iSymphony has options like pop after answer instead of just ringing. It works really well for queue members in a ring-all strategy and for ring groups.
what would be really cool is if a basic firefox plug were to get written (couldnt find one) that identifies phone number patterns the way noojee works, but instead simply turns them into callto: url's.
I think i finally found one.
I think i finally found one. Its called telify and it will turn numbers into any several sort of url handlers including callto:
I tested it with the thirdlane dialer application and it works as the basic callto url handler.
so thirdlane dialer (not outlook plugin part) + telify = click-to-call on most websites.
this Telify works well. I am
this Telify works well. I am running it on a 64bit windows 7 laptop (no outlook) and it complements the core thirdlane dialer program rather well. It identifies many patterns as numbers and makes them into links. For numbers that it doesn't recognize you can still highlight the block and right click to call the number. For example..
1-800-GOOG-411 .. when you highlight it it will actually convert the letters to numbers for you and let you call it.
so between what Zimbra already does for my email integration, plus what this does, my click to call functionality is at an all-time high.
