Queue Full or No Agents Message

Posted by IVSCOMM on Wed, 04/06/2011

I have a queue that is restricted to 5 callers in the que for our example. When the 6th person calls into the que, the system answers the call, sees that the queue is full and then terminates the call.

My dilemma is that there is no indication like a busy signal or the ability to play a message that the que is full call back later.

Is there a way to do that?

And found eemans brief post to another guy about using Hunt Lists.

This is exactly what I need if the Que is full or no devices are present to take call it skips to the next step where I have created an IVR that plays a message "Call back later" and hangs up.

Here's the kicker:
If the hunt list presents the call to the Que successfully and the "How long to ring (sec)" runs out, the Hunt List pulls the call out of Que and does the next step.

Shouldn't the Hunt List be done if the call successfully goes to Que. How do I stop this without having to put in some ridiculously large number?

rediculously large timeouts are ok. I mean 6000 seconds is what.. 100 minutes. Thats a long time to hang out in a queue anyway. so some number between 600 and 6000 isnt so bad.
