Let me first preface this by saying I do not think this is a thirdlane issue, but that nothing else (allegedly) in the setup has changed since the problem arose.
We have one location that cannot get inbound calls. The calls hit TL, and they push to the extensions correctly, just that the extensions do not ring. To be more clear, one of the phones here has BLF and can see other extensions being rang, but, the phones themselves are not ringing.
The interesting thing is we have another group of phones in the same tenant that do ring. They are on the same internet connection, but not behind the same firewall. Clearly I am thinking firewall issue at this point, but let me explain a bit more.
I know the equipment works, because when I patch the phones that are not ringing into the other connection (so not behind the suspected bad firewall) they work.
The IT guy swears no changes were made to the firewall, and multiple times has assured me that UDP port 5060 is open, and UDP ports 10000-20000 are open as well.
While I realize this is not a TL issue, we are both spinning our wheels trying to think of anything at all that could cause such a scenario to arise. Anyone have any ideas on this? It would be greatly appreciated.
Eric, Yes, I think we have
Eric, Yes, I think we have recently upgraded TL. They are Cisco phones. Ill show you what I stumbled on to yesterday that I think is the cause of the problem, but I do not know what causes it, if that makes sense.
This is what I show for the extension that is working on site:
Addr->IP : 69.58.116.224 Port 5060
Defaddr->IP : 0.0.0.0 Port 5060
Reg. Contact : sip:203-holder@10.10.10.100:5060
Now, for the one that is not working, I show:
Addr->IP : 69.58.116.223 Port 1038
Defaddr->IP : 0.0.0.0 Port 5060
Reg. Contact : sip:105-holder@69.58.116.223:1038
Notice how the Reg Contact of the 2nd one does not have the local address of the phone. I suspect this is what is causing the rings not to come through, but Ive really not seen this before. I suspect it probably is a NAT issue of some sort. Any ideas?
in your asterisk.conf file
in your asterisk.conf file change the value of app_set to 1.4 and restart asterisk. that should hold you over till a fix releases.
did you recently upgrade TL? and are these cisco or aastra phones? Theres a patch coming, but theres also a temporary workaround if its the bug that i think it is.
