Core show channels

Posted by IVSCOMM on Thu, 04/19/2012

I have tried to find what the Core Show channels command tells me but have been unsuccessful. What does this part mean?

85 active channels
43 active calls
314339 calls processed

does that mean 85 active SIP Channels (which include station to station and station to trunk calls)
of the 85, 43 of them are trunk calls
since system startup I have processed 314339 calls

am I correct please enlighten if I am wrong. Or give me a website that I can read to correct me.

So bridged calls (2 legs) could mean station to station or station to trunk calls correct?
(Could this also be 2, 3 or more legs for a single bridged call?)
A single call leg could be a station to VM call right?

Just trying to clarify what i found on the internet after your answer.

invoking chan_local makes a 3legged call

using AgentCallbackLogin in asterisk 1.4 bridged sip->chan_agent->chan_local->chan_sip

a 4 legged call

Sorry lets try this again,

so the 43 means 43 calls made up of 85 call legs.

Doesn't matter how many legs in a call whether it be 1,2,3,or 4 or more.

Mainly what I care is that the 43 is how many active calls that were running at that time.

but it doesn't necessarily mean it is a Trunk call.

asterisk sees sip/trunkname and sip/phone as the exact same thing and doesnt really care if you think of it as a trunk or otherwise.
