Hi guys,
I know that there were quite a few installs where Thirdlane was used to configure Mobotix IP cameras http://www.mobotix.com
A few people asked about the configuration specifics but since I have no camera here I can not post tested settings (video codecs, etc).
Could someone please post that here?
Thanks,
Alex
Henry, Those sounds like
Henry,
Those sounds like some cool applications.
To have the camera call the owners cellular phone when it detects movement after hours & let the owner say something over the speaker is a good demo!
Do you have any of them installed?

Any upgrades for the ip
Any upgrades for the ip camera installation for 2017? I know the thread is old, since its the only discussion related to what information im looking for.
its not overly common to have
its not overly common to have a camera call into a phone system. As video is limited to only the asterisk phonesystem / local network, most people just use a pvr for the security aspects to run their cameras. It is not like the PBX can call the police and output video to them since the PSTN wont pass any. What are you wanting to do outside of a separate alarm system?
We have been doing that for a while, we found that Thridlane is among only few comercial PBXs suitable for Mobotix.
You need to create an extension no different that the others so Mobotix can register, the only thing is that you need to select H.263 video codec along with the audio codecs.
Thirdlane already include the settings to enable pasing video calls:
The key one is videosupport = yes
Mobotix configuration is easy, not different than any IP phone.
Open Admin Menu, go to Voip settings screen;
Enable Voip;
Enter the account settings:
Username: Extension number, if it is multitenant don't forget the -tenant
Sip Domain: Thidlane IP or FQDN
Registrar: Thidlane IP or FQDN
SIP ID: Extension number, if it is multitenant don't forget the -tenant
Registration Expires: 1 min if behind NAT otherwise 30 min
Towards the end of that screen enable Video and define video size/resolution and bit rate.
That's it. Mobotix should be registered now, Mobotix cameras have microphone and speaker. You can call the camera from any other extension. If you have a video phone you'll get audio and video.
The cool thing is that many creative applications can be implemented, here are some ideas:
When camera detects an event call an extension, cell phone or police;
When camera detects an event call an IVR account and play some sound, in our office we have our camera greeting people when they enter the building;
Using DTMF you can control some signal out in the camera so you can remotely talk to your camera, see what is hapening, cancel o trigger alarms, open doors, play a sound file... etc
I know of several success stories from people integrating Thirdlane with security surveillance applications. http://www.abptech.com/products/Mobotix/
