How would you be affected if we dropped support for IAX?

Anyone using IAX for endpoints?

Trunks?

We use IAX2 for Zoiper cellphone endpoints as Verizon has blocked SIP traffic on their data network

well that sounds like typical verizon. Why should a company that now charges metered rates for data care if you're making voip calls? They already give unlimited talk and texting for pennies anyway. It seems like they would only be saving themselves money. At least this way they are technically getting paid for those calls now instead of an all-you-can-eat model.

I dont use AIX2 for extensions but I do know a few carriers that support it. However, renegotiation of SIP for T.38, contact info, and video are definitely sip exclusive features. Matthew, will AIX2 in zoiper still allow for the transfer and Hold features to work?

We have no intention to remove support for IAX trunks, I was mostly interested in knowing whether anyone is using IAX phones. Keeping IAX support for phones complicates our platform, and we would like to know if it is used enough to justify this.
