Hunt Lists
Hunt Lists is a feature that allows you to create and manage "groups of Ring Groups" which are processed sequentially until someone answers the call. In order to use Hunt Lists they must be associated with Feature Codes. Using Queues is an alternative to using Hunt Lists.
Create/Edit Hunt List
Hunt List Name. Unique alphanumeric name for the Hunt List, no spaces allowed.
Description. Hunt List description, optional.
Up to 10 steps can be added to Hunt List. Each step can be a Device Based Ring Group, Extension Based Ring Group, Queue, or Asterisk command.
Device Based Ring Groups
The Device Based Ring Groups "call" SIP Endpoints directly and bypass any logic contained in Dialplan Scripts associated with User Extensions.
To add a Device Based Ring Group, click "Add Device Based Ring Group" button.
Each Device Based Ring Group allows you to specify the following:
Announcement to caller. An announcement (Voice Prompt) played to callers before calling the SIP Endpoints in this Ring Group.
Phones to ring. A list of SIP endpoints in this Ring Group. Hold the Control key down while selecting each endpoint. At least one of either the "Phones to ring" or "Other phone numbers to dial" has to be selected.
Other phone numbers to dial. Other phone numbers to dial as part of this Extension Based Ring Group. Separate phone numbers by spaces or commas.
Be aware that adding "Other phone numbers" to a Ring Group could result in the calls be routed to the dialed number's voicemail mailbox and be effectively "lost".
How long to ring (sec). The time Thirdlane will continue to ring this Ring Group.
Dial command options. Additional options for the Asterisk "Dial" command.
Extension Based Ring Groups
The Extensions Based Ring Groups allow you to dial User Extensions and therefore execute dialplan logic contained in Dialplan Scripts associated with each User Extension.
The default Thirdlane script tl-stdexten used for dialing User Extensions disables Voicemail and all the Call Forwarding and Call Screening options for each User Extension when dialing in a Ring Group, and leaves Call Recording options as configured.
To add an Extension Based Ring Group to the list, click on "Add Extension Based Ring Group" button.
Each Extension Based Ring Group allows you to specify the following:
Announcement to caller. An announcement (Voice Prompt) played to callers before calling the User Extensions in this Ring Group.
User extensions to ring. A list of User Extensions in this Ring Group. Hold the Control key down while selecting each User Extension. At least one of either the "User Extensions" to ring or "Other phone numbers to dial" has to be selected.
Queues
Typically, Queue would be the last step within a Hunt List.
To add a Queue to the list, click on "Add Queue" button.
Queue step allows you to specify the following:
Announcement to caller. An announcement (Voice Prompt) played to callers before routing the call to the Queue.
Queue to go to. Name of the Queue the call will be routed to.
How long to ring (sec). The time Thirdlane will continue to stay within this Queue waiting for the call to be answered.
Queue command options. Additional options for the Asterisk "Queue" command.
Asterisk Command
Root level administrators have an option to add any Asterisk dialplan command as a step to the Hunt List.
Destination on no-answer
Destination on no-answer. This is used to specify an action taken if none of the Hunt List steps answers. You can select a Dialplan Script to be executed from a list of available Dialplan Scripts and fill the parameters as per this Dialplan Script's definition.
